This is something I wrote up for my site, FUZZYBUG.NET, but wanted to share here too. Like the headline says, find myself randomly and fondly thinking about BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. I mean the show itself was a big part of me being a kid… well, it came out in ’92, so just getting into high school? Meh, still a kid. But yea, loved this show growing up.
But why am I thinking about it now?
Well, Entertainment Earth posted a prop replica of Batman’s grapnel launcher, and it’s GLORIOUS! Check it out below.
Safe to say, memories of the show came rushing back when I saw this! Though one episode sticks out in particular, ROBIN’S RECKONING PART 1, directed by Kevin Altieri. Yes, after all these years later, still remember the episode. Specifically, there was a moment in the episode where Batman is trying to get away from a situation, and I remember the lines, blacks and colors were so vibrant, definitely an elevated version of what the show could be, as opposed to the standard muted colors of the show as a whole.
Tried to find a screengrab of the episode, which, as I write this, I guess I could’ve snapped a pic off of HBO Max… but even still…
Definitely doesn’t do my memory justice, but I think you get the idea.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to order this thing. But why post it here on Korean Maker? Well, could help but think about an Adam Savage ‘One Day Build’ video where he modded a Nerf rifle, painted it, weathered it, the whole nine.
